Santa Fe, NM – The Santa Fe County Growth Management Department is looking for residents from Commission District 3 to join the Planning Commission. This role will last for two years, starting in January 2025 and ending in January 2027.
At Planning Commission meetings, applicants present their projects while county staff provide reports and recommendations. Public comments are also considered regarding land development proposals. The commission makes decisions and offers recommendations on land development matters to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC). Issues discussed by this commission include variance requests, Conditional Use Permits, and Planned Development Districts.
For a detailed description and procedural requirements of the Planning Commission, interested parties can refer to Table 4-1 in the Sustainable Land Use Development Code.
Commission members are expected to attend monthly public hearings every third Thursday and any special meetings as required. Members need a computer with internet access to view meeting materials and participate via WebEx if necessary.
