Santa Fe Public Schools (SFPS) is in the process of finding a new superintendent. The district is using the expertise of Carroll Strategies, a local consulting firm, to engage the community in this selection process.

SFPS conducted ten public forums aimed at collecting input on the characteristics desired in a superintendent. These forums involved community members, school staff, and district personnel. High school students were also given a platform through three exclusive forums.

In addition to the forums, a two-week online survey drew 457 responses. Carroll Strategies will prepare a detailed report for the school board, reflecting both forum discussions and survey responses.

Since the position was announced in mid-March, 19 completed applications have been submitted to the Human Resources department. Ten more applications are still in progress. Among the completed submissions, eight are from within New Mexico and eleven from other states, including two applicants with prior experience in New Mexico schools.

The application deadline is April 17, and the district expects to receive more applications soon.

"SFPS busca nuevo superintendente," stated the district outlining their efforts in reaching out to different community segments to gather opinions on the desired qualities in their next superintendent.

The process to finalize their choice involves both forums and a detailed survey. A report, aggregating this feedback, is in preparation by Carroll Strategies.

"Desde que se abrió la convocatoria a mediados de marzo," continued the statement, referring to the mix of in-state and out-of-state applicants responding to the job posting.

The deadline for submitting applications is set for April 17, and SFPS anticipates additional applications before this date.
