Santa Fe, NM – Effective Tuesday, August 13, 2024, a contractor for the Santa Fe County Public Works department announced the delay of road improvements on Bonanza Creek Rd (CR-45) due to their current workload. The roadway revitalization project, which includes reconstructing roadway surfaces, repaving and adding safety features, is scheduled to commence this summer on four county roads (CR-45 Bonanza Creek Rd., Fin Del Sendero, Camino De Jacobo, and Camino Lisa) spanning all five Commission Districts.

However, due to the contractor's commitments on other projects, the start date has been temporarily postponed. Santa Fe County Public Works apologizes for the delay and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Once construction begins, temporary lane closures will be implemented to ensure safety, with traffic allowed to proceed through work zones. Motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists should anticipate minor delays and plan for extra travel time.

Further details about the rescheduled improvements and project timelines will be communicated as soon as possible.

For more information, please contact Lawrence Imprescia, Project Manager 3, at (505) 992-3046 or lcimprescia@santafecountynm.gov.
