The Bureau of Reclamation and Santa Fe County are organizing two open house events this winter to provide updates on the Pojoaque Basin Regional Water System, focusing on Phase 1. These sessions aim to inform the community about the project's details.
The Pojoaque Basin Regional Water System is designed to divert, treat, and distribute potable water to the Pueblos of Pojoaque, Nambé, San Ildefonso, and Tesuque, as well as customers in Santa Fe County.
Phase 1 involves several key components currently under construction: an intake facility at the intersection of the Rio Grande and NM-502; a water treatment plant at NM-502 and CR 101D; a raw water pipeline connecting these facilities; along with transmission water lines, booster pump stations, and storage tanks.
Santa Fe County encourages residents to attend one of these open house events. Presentations will be given by representatives from both the Bureau of Reclamation and Santa Fe County. An information desk will also be available for attendees to submit written questions. Responses will be provided by an appropriate agency after the event. Additional open house events discussing future phases related to roads and community water delivery are planned for 2025.
