The National Weather Service has issued a forecast predicting a wave of cold weather for northeastern New Mexico. In response, the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) is advising residents to prepare for potential health and safety risks associated with the upcoming winter conditions.

A Cold Weather Advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. this evening until 8 a.m. on Friday, with a Winter Storm Watch also in place. The NMDOH Center for Health Protection recommends taking steps to protect people and pets, as well as preparing homes and vehicles for the severe weather.

For more information about this advisory, David Morgan can be contacted at 575-528-5197 (Office) or 575-649-0754 (Mobile).

Additionally, in an effort to make their press releases more accessible, NMDOH offers a Spanish version of the announcement. A link is available to access the translation.
