Santa Fe seeks new member for Health Policy and Planning Commission

The Santa Fe County Community Services Department is looking for a volunteer to join the Health Policy and Planning Commission (HPPC). The commission, which consists of nine members, seeks individuals from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about healthcare services. Currently, there is an opening for a representative from District 3.

The HPPC's main role is to offer guidance and recommendations to both the Community Services Department and the Board of County Commissioners regarding healthcare services in Santa Fe County. Additional responsibilities include researching issues assigned by the Board, proposing updates to the Santa Fe County Health Action Plan, assisting with health and programmatic issues, staying informed on healthcare developments at various levels, and addressing community input on local healthcare needs.

Established by Resolution 2020-100, all appointments to the HPPC require confirmation by the Board of County Commissioners. Candidates must submit letters of interest along with their qualifications in the health field. It is also mandatory for all members to reside within Santa Fe County.

Those interested in applying should send their resume and letter of interest to Coy Maienza, Health Care Assistance Admin Program Manager at Santa Fe County Community Services. Applications can be mailed to PO Box 267 Santa Fe, NM 87501 or emailed to cmaienza@santafecountynm.gov. The deadline for applications is Wednesday, March 15, 2025, at 5:00 pm. A background check will be required for all appointed members.
